A Career Built from the Ground Up
Rory began his career straight from school with St Leger Homes, completing a four-year apprenticeship and achieving an NVQ Level 3 in Advanced Brickwork.
Over the following ten years, he worked across almost every aspect of domestic construction, developing practical experience in brickwork, roofing, wall tiling, structural repairs and general building work.
Rather than specialising in one trade alone, this broad construction background provided an in-depth understanding of how homes are built, how different elements work together and how building defects develop over time.
Experience Beyond the Tools
Rory later moved into Facilities Management and Health & Safety, overseeing the maintenance and day-to-day operation of a large secondary school in Doncaster.
His responsibilities included managing maintenance budgets of around £350,000, producing health and safety policies, preparing risk assessments and method statements, overseeing statutory compliance and managing site teams.
This experience strengthened his understanding of building maintenance, compliance and long-term asset management—knowledge that continues to benefit BeeSure Roofing customers today.

Rory then returned to St Leger Homes as a Maintenance & Repairs Surveyor. His role shifted from carrying out the work himself to inspecting properties, diagnosing defects and specifying the correct repairs for his team to carry out.
